She is the author of Aditya, the Underwater Boy, a novella that won the National Award in the Nehru Children's Book Trust competition in 1991; and Dolphin Girl and Other Stories. Her first novel, Circe, a humorous fantasy, was published by American Mojocastle Press in October 2009 to good reviews. Her short story, The Enlightened Robot was was published in the literary journal, Cezanne's Carrot and her short story City of Victory was published by BBC Radio 4. Her flash fiction piece, Princess Upon a War Horse, will be included in a print anthology. Anita says her fiction is deeply influenced by her spiritual practice.

Anita's home, with its murals and paintings, was featured in a national magazine and described as the most creative in the city. She's worked as a copywriter for more than 25 years and says she is extremely grateful to be able to make money doing what she loves. This year, she landed a gig as a contributing writer for Suite 101 where she will be writing about writing, as well as about vegetarianism. Anita also teaches copywriting and short story writing courses online. She lives with her four dogs.
